Each year, Rori at Between My Sheets compiles a list of the Top 100 Sex Bloggers of the year based on recommendations, nominations, and her own research. It is a long, exhaustive, thoroughly intense project, but she does it from the kindness of her blogging heart. She has some really good Blog-Karma coming her way for all the work she does on this year after year.
Last year, I was delighted and shocked to be nominated and to make the list at #92 — especially since I’d only been blogging for 9 months when the list was published. I don’t know who nominated me, but I was super flattered. This year, I’m making several nominations of my own:
Dumb Domme: If I could imitate someone’s gift for stringing words together, general vocabulary, and design skills, it would be her. I want to BE her as a writer…. just not as a Domme. That probably doesn’t make sense to anyone but me. Anyway, I’m envious of her talent.
Hedone: Hedone has a way of always surprising me and making me laugh out loud with her writing. I never know what to expect. She also runs the TMI Tuesday meme and the extra time for coming up with all sorts of questions every week is, well, admirable to say the least. Also, she hit on me once and about lost myself in delight and lust.
Kitty: Kitty writes her blog about life with Master. On the whole, I don’t enjoy blogs about D/s relationships because I cannot relate to the sub mindset in any way. With Kitty, however, her words are always touching and her love for her Master and his love for her are touching in her entries. I find her playfulness cute and endearing and I love to see her posts about their life.
The Beautiful Kind: Kendra’s blog isn’t so much a sex blog as a lifestyle blog. Her life is incredible: single mom, girlfriend, lover, role-player, and general life enthusiast, I love to read about what she has learned, discovered, or played each week. Her blog is full of real-life experiences delving into the sex positive, kink world.
Dirty Lola: Dirty Lola was one of my first twitter friends and soon thereafter became a twitter flirt of mine. Her blogging happens much like mine: prompted by life event or emotion. Her very busy poly life is honest and full of transparent emotions. She shares the most painful parts of her life as well as her happiest and most intimate.
Shelby Cross: Shelby’s blog was one of the first I discovered when I became a blogger. I became immediately intrigued with her D/s relationship and appreciated how open she was to my questions. I’m not sure I’ll ever take her advice to get a real Dom/Domme-applied spanking, but I’m trying to keep my mind open. Oh, and we have the exact same taste in chocolate, so we’re really kindred spirits in some ways.
I think each of these ladies deserves a spot on the list for the incredible writing, time, and excellent story-telling they each do on their lives.
If you have some bloggers you’d like to see make the list (such as yours truly), please nominate them via the comments section on Rori’s site.
